Lots to Share: Relay for Life ~ Mom gets a pedi ~ Vacay in FL

So its been a really really busy spring. The girls and I participated in Relay for Life this year. We helped save the boobies and raise $48,000 towards cancer research. The pictures are below with captions underneath.

Bridget, Jules, and Heather at our "camp" trying to take a picture of our banner.

Me with the Banner but you can't see it.

Heather with the banner ... did I mention our banner won first prize!!!Heather walking the track like a pro.

We celebrated Dan's birthday in May with venision burgers and strawberry cake with strawberry frosting.

Isn't he so handsome?!?!

So for those of you who do not know my Mom very well she is a no frills kinda gal. I have been begging her for numerous years to get a pedicure. I finally convinced her to go for Mother's Day this year. This worked out great for me as I needed a pedi for my vacay to FL.

Mom sitting in the hot seat =]

She even let me pick out the color.
She has purple toes now and they look so darn cute because her toes are so teeny tiny.

After our lovely pedicures at Laurie's Casual Cuts I left for Naples, Florida the following Tuesday.

The beautiful white sugar sand was amazing at Naples Beach.

Heather and I walked down to the beach our first morning in Naples.

This was the view from our room at the Inn at Pelican Bay.
This place is a hot spot for the 55 and older crowd.
You can go to events there every two weeks, no lie.

Here are Lib and Heather picking out their spa treatment at Spa 41.

Chief [Mykel Anne] and I waiting to get our spa treatment. Allegedly, pregnant women in their 1st and 2nd trimester can NOT get a massage. But, the facial was an ok substitute.

Here is the view from our hotel room in Fort Lauderdale. Amazing view with lots of action ... people pulled over, receipts blowing away from the tiki bar, surfers and much much more but its a family show, right lol.
Our hotel in Fort Lauderdale. Right above the Bubba Gump restaurant.

I couldn't believe there were coconuts in the palms trees near the tiki bar at our hotel in Fort Lauderdale.

I am hoping things will calm down a bit for next month. I have my next prenatal appointment on June 4th, so I will have a baby update after that ... hopefully we can get more pictures [as Dan likes to call the ultrasounds] taken soon.

Total Waste O Time

Ugh so the class was brutally boring. WE did a learn a couple of things. But most of the information the nurse covered during the pregnancy workshop has already been covered by books given to us by the Midwife. Also, the nurse really needs to update her knowledge about many things.

What we learned: I guess I need to eat more. Especially in the protein and grains/carbohydrate area. Dan thinks I never eat enough anyway and now he really thinks I don't. I have lost 3-4 pounds this trimester instead of gained. However, I have been nauseous and then I got sick [head cold] so that did not help. Hey I am in no hurry to pack on the pounds. Maybe he will come home with a nice treat for me today.

I guess my nephew Alex [see pic] is very curious about this new cousin. He asked Dean[my bubba] how the baby was going to get out of my belly. I think Dean and Sheri [sister in law] are in for more questions marathons. Grandma will be out there next week so she might get hit too. So cute.

I am headed to Naples for vacay next week and my niece is graduating from kindergarten next week too. It is such a big week. Any ideas for a kindergarten graduation gift??????

Here she is on her 6th birthday. Don't hate her because she is beautiful =]

Pregnancy Workshop

Dan and I will be attending our first Pregnancy Workshop tonight. The class provides information about growth and development of the baby, body changes during pregnancy, as well as exercise, nutrition and comfort measures. Now, I have to tread carefully when making Dan aware of factors about pregnancy. He is a worrier ... after 10+ years I have discovered he worries but in silent until it explodes. Just one example, Dan read one of the pregnancy books from our Midwife and now I am reminded daily to eat folic acid and how important nutrition and rest are for the baby. So adorable. Anywhoo ... tonight shall me interesting.

Ten Weeks

So its ten weeks so far and let me tell you the last two weeks have been the best so far. No nausea, just really hungry every two hours. Hunger like you can't even imagine. The baby received his/her first gift today from Grandma Crosbie [see photo below]. It was so sweet of her to send it all the way from Florida. Thanks again!!!

Went to Maryland with my Mom and Aunt Penny to visit my cousin Meg and tour DC this weekend. Unfortunately, My mom caught a cold before the trip and gave it to me during the trip. Noooooo its not the swine flu at least that is what I keep telling myself. We had a great time regardless. But being pregnant makes you really tuckered out which I am not used to AT ALL.

So here is Mom and I in DC a little under the weather.

And below is the gang [Aunt Penny, Mom and Meg] at lunch in Georgetown at J Paul's. Loved Georgetown! That is my kind of place. Lots of cute shops and they have Sephora so it must be a pretty reputtable place.

Oh and I have to include this next photo. Dan got me an Easter basket this year. So, great and thoughtful with all the stuff I love. Peeps, twizzlers, dots, reeses peanut butter cups and more. Unfortunately, the baby does NOT like sugar. I have one reese peanut butter cup every other day. I am so bummed my first basket from the hubby and it will probably take me til next Easter to enjoy it.
I am not sure if anyone is still reading this blog ... I love any comments you might have for us!!
