Baby check up week 25 or 6 months. Lets just say the appointment was fine ... the follow up phone call not so much. After my appointment yesterday my midwife contacted me to follow up on a confusing ultrasound report about the condition of my placenta. Come to find out I have what is called Marginal Placenta Previa.
The major concern with this condition is that the baby will come way too early. The positive thing about this is that it can fix itself, BUT it has to fix itself within the first 28-30 weeks.
I go back on 9/8 at 2pm for an ultrasound to see if the placenta has fixed itself. By then I am 28 weeks. My doctor appointment is 9/10 to discuss the results. If it isn't fixed I will be restricted from travel, lifting heavy items and intercourse [not that you care but we ARE sharing].
Many of the websites on the "super reliable all knowing internet" state that 90% of women's placentas fix themselves. I am hoping I am in the 90%!!!!
The baby is fine, still growing and has a strong heartbeat and moving like crazy as I type this blog update.
On more positive news [or maybe for me only] by addiction to Ebay continues to be strong and active. I won a wonderful car seat for Clint called Chicco Keyfit. The seller listed it as EUC [excellent used condition]. The car seat is immaculate. I really think they brought the baby home in it and that is all they used it for, seriously no wear on this thing. Of course its color decor is super masculine with a variety of brown shades. Think milk chocolate and caramel [ok its my afternoon treat time] anywhoo. It really nice and it was a wonderful WIN errr I mean buy. Now I am hoping to win my dream stroller the BOB Revolution Mesa Orange.
Keepin' positive in Pdam!!

The 2nd Wedding Anniversary is Cotton
Dan and I will be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary next week [Aug 18th if curious minds really want to know]. Now, tradition states that the 2nd anniversary is a gift of cotton. I will get back to this in one sec this next part is important.
For those of you who do not know yet ... I have succumbed to letting Dan name the baby Clint after Clint Eastwood. And yes Grandma, et al there will be NO middle name just like the icon Dan's wishes to name him after.
Anywhoo, I got him this little cotton item below to let him know that its a deal ... we are naming our son Clint. He brought it to work with him to show the guys. I guess he was a little thrilled =]

Birthday Surprises
Yesterday was my birthday and my husband [Dan] surprised me with a digital camcorder. LOVE IT!! He thought with the baby coming it might be handy. I made the video below as a test drive. We have 3 fawns that visit us regularly. Two of them are twins. Sometimes they like to kick it in our yard for the day. Thanks again Ma for the delish cupcakes. They are so yummie with sprinkles and everything! OH and DON'T judge my commentary is less then desirable. Hahahaha.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes friends and family. I truly felt loved yesterday!!

Dad and Baby Bonding
Background info first ...... Dan found a stethoscope somewhere [work, the street, one of his senior citizen guys friend, who knows] and brought it home and sterilized it per my request.

Dan hasn't been able to attend the midwife appts where hearing the heartbeat is part of the visit ... I think he is feeling left out.
Anyhoo, he decided that he wanted to hear the heart beat of the baby last night. So he went downstairs and grabbed the stethoscope and placed it everywhere on my belly to hear our little guy. He didn't get to hear the heartbeat because the baby decided to kick him. He thought that was pretty amazing and forgot all about hearing the heartbeat.
Until next time ....

Pictures, Possibilities and Preparations
Ultrasound Pictures of our Baby Boy
[aka Little Clint]
Here he is our little guy. His profile at 5 months

Here is his tiny little foot.

His arm and hands.

Tilt your head to the left. He is sideways laying on his arm.
Don't worry it does look kinda like a skeleton.

With the new little peanut on the way I have been stressing a little [ok a lot] about my work situation. Reason being is, I have to travel extensively overnight for weeks on end to be successful in my current position. BUT this little setup is completely unsuitable for a Mama and a new Mama at that, so the job search prevails. I recently applied for a position on campus. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will at least get an interview. Updates about this will happen after Aug 3rd. Send all the good vibes you can!!!

Possibilities
Preparations
Apparently, babies need a lot of stuff. I mean a lot more stuff then I have ever even knew about ... my parenthood magazine provides a checklist. So, to make it easier for me and Dan I went Target, Wal-Mart and the Babies R Us webistes and created a registry of things that we need for our little guy. Who knew there are SOME MANY options for car seats, cribs, bottles, etc. PS. Any advice on a good infant car seat would be welcomed.
Ok so that is it for now ........

Thank you Uncle and Auntie from MN
My brother and sister in law sent us an amazing baby swing cradle for the baby. I just had to put it together last night. I love it thank you so much. Right now it is in the "baby room". I say "baby room" because it is the only thing we have in the room that pertains to the baby at this point.I am feeling really good these days. I can feel the baby move a lot more now and he is definitely making more room for himself in there ... from the u-sound he appears to be very long. He likes to have his head right under by breast also seen in the ultrasound. Which explains the discomfort in that area over the last couple weeks. =]
I am hoping I can get Grandma Rourk to scan the u-sound pictures soon to post.
Have a great day!
